Wow…content management strategy. Those are some pretty heavy words. Do you have one of those for your website?
A content management strategy is simply a vision and plan for adding new information to your site.
At the most basic level it will answer these questions:
- What content do your readers want?
- What are your current gaps of coverage?
- How and how often will you create new content?
- How and how often will you delete and archive content?
The answers to these questions will form your content management strategy guide how you manage and update your website.
How can PLR fit into your strategy?
Let’s say you have a plan to add 7 new pieces of content to your site a week. You don’t have time to write all 7, so you hire someone to write for you. Your budget and the writer’s pricing only allows the writer to write 4 articles a week. Purchase some PLR articles for the remaining 3 days, problem solved.
Why not purchase PLR for all 3 days?
Think about your content management strategy as building your wardrobe. If you mix some designer pieces with some cheaper pieces, you’ll have the expensive-looking wardrobe that people envy but not an expensive wardobe.
When you include PLR in your content management strategy, it’s a good idea to mix it up. Add some original content along with PLR content. Your website doesn’t look rehashed, you meet the readers’ needs, and you fall within budget.

Unique content is important. I know that. Readers are turned off when they see the same article on multiple websites. So if you buy PLR content, then you need to change it up a bit so it doesn’t look like you copied your content.
One of the more popular ways of changing content (PLR content included) is to use an article spinner.
What’s an article spinner?
An article spinner is a piece of software that changes the words in your article so that they’re different from the original. There are several free ones, but there are also some you can purchase that promise better results.
What’s wrong with spinning articles?
If you’ve ever used one of these article spinners, then you know the results are less than pleasing. This software doesn’t rewrite your article. All it does is look at each word and replace it with a synonym - a word with similar meaning.
Similar doesn’t always mean exact. And after you’ve replaced several words in a sentence or paragraph with synonyms, the text has lost it’s meaning.
Let me give you an example. I put this sentence into an article spinner “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” and got this “The fast university beguiler jumped over the lazy dog.” Huh?
Article spinning versus human rewriting
Original
Why would anyone choose to use an article spinner? The resulting sentences don’t make sense. If your goal is to keep readers on your site long enough to click ads, then you should provide them with text they can read and understand. You won’t get this with an article spinner.
Spun
ground would anyone decide to ingest an subdivision spinner? The resulting sentences don’t puddle sense. If your content is to hold readers on your place elongate sufficiency to stop ads, then you should give them with schoolbook they sack show and understand. You won’t ache this with an subdivision spinner.
Human rewrite
Article spinners make content unreadable. Readers won’t stay on your site or click ads if they can’t understand your content.
Another human rewrite
Using an article spinner to rewrite content is a bad idea. What does it take to get readers to stay on your site long enough to click ads? Content they can read and understand. That kind of content isn’t what you get when you use an article spinner.
Hire a writer or rewrite it yourself
Rewriting content isn’t about simply making content 75% different from the original version. No software can ever rewrite content the way a human can because software can’t understand context. It can’t read between the lines. It can’t understand cliche’s, comparisons, or any of the other things humans do with text to make a point.
If you want your readers to have content that’s readable and understandable, hire a writer or write it yourself.

Seriously, I saw an advertisement that offered 40,000 PLR articles for only $6 and there were several takers (though some people offered $4).
A webmaster might see this offer and think “If I can find just one article, then I’ve gotten my money’s worth?” That’s a big “if.” And let’s say you really do find one article (ahem, needle in a haystack), who’s to say it will be worth the $6 and the time spent sifting through all those articles to find it.
When I see an offer like this, I immediately question the legitimacy of the content. Where did these articles come from? Does the seller have the right to sell these articles? Have they simply been ripped off from other websites? Have then been sent through an article spinner? How many other people have purchased those articles? How many other people are using those articles?
You know the saying, “You get what you pay for?” It includes web content. Those PLR offers of hundreds and thousands of articles for just a few bucks reek of poor content that will send your readers running for decent writing.
Stay away from ridiculous PLR offers. I’m telling you this because I want you to make the right decision regarding your web content, whether you buy PLR from me or not.

PLR articles are typically sold in one of two ways - either through a PLR membership site or a pay-per-article/pack site (like financeplrcontent.com). PLR membership sites lure webmasters by offering hundreds of articles a month for a low price. When you do the math, you end up paying pennies for each article and sometimes less. But PLR memberships sites aren’t all they seem to be.
Hundreds of other people have access to the exact same set of articles. The odds of duplicate content are significantly higher with PLR memberships sites because so many other people have rights to the same article. It’s more likely that readers will come across your article elsewhere, unless you heavily rewrite it.
Junk content often rewritten by article software. I’ve seen users across the ‘net complaining about the quality of content purchased at PLR sites. They say the content is poorly written and has often been put through an article spinner. Not only that, some say they’ve seen the same articles on multiple membership sites. That can double, even triple, the number of people who can use the articles.
Money spent on lots of articles you won’t use. Just what exactly are you going to do with 400 articles a month? In all those articles, there may be 10 that you will use on your site. You’ll have to sift through all those articles to find the ones you want. Instead, you could find a niche PLR site that sells by the article or pack, get the specific articles you want and use the extra time to rewrite your articles.

If you want to get the full benefit of PLR content, you shouldn’t just post it on your site as-is. You’ll be surprised at how your readers respond even at minimal changes.
Change the Intro Paragraph
At a minimum, you should change the first paragraph. If you and everyone else who purchases the content leaves the intro paragraph as-is, readers will immediately know the the content came from another place. Rewrite the first paragraph, making it unique and interesting.
Add or Change Headers
Internet readers don’t immediately read entire pages. Instead, they skim articles to get their answers immediately. After reading headers, they may go back and read the content. Adding headers to your content will capture the readers’ attention and encourage them to spend more time on your page.
Don’t Use Article Spinners
There is not an article spinner out there that can effectively rewrite your content. They simply replace words with synonyms that often don’t make contextual sense. Spun content will immediately turn off readers and send them running from your site in droves.
I’ve heard complaints of net-based article spinners stealing content. PLR content isn’t unique to begin with, but having your purchase stolen is downright infuriating.
Avoid Cheap Rewriters
You’ll often find so-called writers offering to rewrite your content for a low, low price. In my experience, these rewriters don’t do any better job than an article spinner. You’re better off leaving the content as-is than publishing a poorly rewritten article.
